Terms of Use
Last updated: November 7, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Deutsch Lernen mobile application (the "App"), provided by Ralchenko Software, a sole proprietorship of Viktor Ralchenko registered in Switzerland ("we", "us", or "our"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The App
Deutsch Lernen helps you learn German with vocabulary, grammar, phrases, flashcards with spaced repetition, quizzes, dictation, listening, writing exercises and an AI tutor. The App is a learning aid: it does not replace a certified language course or exam, and we do not guarantee any particular learning result.
2. Free and Premium
- Levels A1–A2 and many features are free. Free use may show ads and has a limited number of AI messages.
- Premium unlocks levels B1–C2, premium features, a larger monthly AI message allowance and removes ads. The features included in Premium are described in the App and may change over time; we will not remove core features of an active subscription without notice.
3. Subscriptions and Payment
- Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play. The price, billing period and any free trial are shown in the App and in Google Play before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel it before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. After cancelling, Premium stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, you are not charged.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies. If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, any statutory rights you have remain unaffected.
- Promo codes give Premium access for the period stated with the code. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred or resold.
4. AI Features
- The AI tutor, Speaking, Writing feedback and similar features generate answers with third-party AI models. AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Check important information, especially grammar rules you rely on for exams or official texts.
- Do not enter personal or sensitive information in AI conversations. How AI requests are processed is described in our Privacy Policy.
- AI messages are limited per installation (free and Premium have different allowances). We may change these limits or temporarily suspend AI features, for example if a provider is unavailable.
- If you enter your own API key (Groq, Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude), your requests go directly to that provider under its terms, and any costs are billed to you by that provider. You are responsible for keeping your key safe.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or to create content that is illegal, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit;
- try to get around subscription checks, AI message limits or ads, or access our server other than through the App;
- copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the App's learning content, or reverse engineer the App, except where the law expressly allows it.
We may restrict access to AI features for an installation that breaks these rules.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
The App, its design and its learning content (word lists, explanations, exercises, texts and audio) are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for your own learning. Words and lists you create yourself remain yours.
7. Ads
Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the websites they link to.
8. Availability and Changes
We work to keep the App available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that all content is correct. We may update, change or discontinue features. Your learning progress is stored on your device; uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes it.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data or learning progress. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live continue to apply.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the App or in the Google Play release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by Swiss law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in the courts there.
